As anyone who’s watched an episode or two of Boardwalk Empire knows, music can be just as evocative of a bygone age as fashion. I’m no purist (I’m just as likely to listen to Primus or Deep Purple as Al Bowlly when I’m sewing) but whenever I listen to Radio Dismuke I’m continually reminded how good so many of those old tunes are… and how few people know about them now. So, I’m starting a ‘Tune of the Week’ feature. This week: a gem by Jack Yellen (Crazy words) and Milton Ager (Crazy Tune). Performed here by Johnny Marvin, 1927.
