I usually think of autumn as busy season, but this spring has given it a run for its money with a string of three shows in a row and a whole lot of build-up with the new web site, new fabric designs and new products (more on those below.)
Last weekend I spent the entire day at Ezekiel Bates Lodge, A.F. & A.M. in Attleboro Massachusetts as part of their first Massachusetts & Rhode Island Masonic Con, and was blown away by the response to the new Masonic bow ties that I launched that day. It was a project that had been on my “have to make those someday” list for a long, long time and to have them so well received was really gratifying. I can’t wait to start the next round of designs!
After last weekend it was time to shift gears and get ready to travel to a non-existent 19th century for the OtherWhere Spring Steam Faire on April 30 (part of the Lowell Steampunk Festival) and the Watch City Steampunk Festival, where I’ll be teaming up with Toadbriar Art & Animals as Splendid Toad Art Farm.
I’ll also be playing a few sets of authentic 19th century banjo music at the OtherWhere Spring Steam Faire – it’s quite different than what most people think of when they hear the word ‘banjo’, but should be a good fit for the show!
How about some steampunk medals?
(I had hoped to have the cufflinks ready for last weekend, but there are only so many hours in a week.)
